Cistercian College seeks to appoint a Director of Rugby who will lead, manage and deliver Cistercian College’s rugby programme. The appointee will play the central role in the development of rugby at the School; guiding and supporting our rugby teams and coaching staff.
The Director of Rugby will ensure that players of all abilities are able to reach their potential, including social and beginner pathways for novice to elite players who represent Interprovincial and National sides.
The Director of Rugby will be up-to-date with developments within the sport so the rugby programme at Cistercian College remains progressive, where best practice is shared, and where coaching staff are able to uphold the standards expected within Leinster and Irish Rugby
The Director of Rugby must enable every rugby player, at any level, to participate in, enjoy and excel in this vibrant sport.

Coaching Duties include:
The DOR will:
Team Coaching: be directly involved with the coaching of a Cistercian College Rugby team.
Rugby Programme: update and Implement the current rugby programme across all ages.
Group Sessions: supervise additional evening sessions for groups as units or for specialist skill development.
Analysis: work with the Head Coaches through the use of Video Analysis technology to ensure each squad has regular VA sessions to prepare them for upcoming fixtures and to develop their technical and tactical skills.
Team Prep: ensure Cup teams are prepared during Pre Season and Term holidays with a challenging programme of training and fixtures.
S&C: work collaboratively with the Head of Athletic Development Strength & Conditioning coaches to ensure teams are well prepared to perform to their fullest potential.
Organisation Duties include:
The DOR will:
Tours: assist in the organisation and undertaking of annual Rugby Tours for each squad
Reporting: provide weekly progress reports to the Director of Sport and provide input into parental termly progress reports.
CCR Recruitment Days: support CCR open days and other activities where required.
Coach Recruitment: to utilise the coaching budget to ensure that all teams are staffed with the best coaches within the allocated budget.
Administration Duties include:
The DOR will:
Fixtures: organise the fixture Calendar for all teams.
Referees: ensure referees are available for match days to allow games to be facilitated.
Transport: organise transport to and from games for our teams.
Catering: organise catering for the CCR teams and visiting teams on match days and at training camps.
Fields: Liaising with Ground staff to ensure fields are prepared and maintained for all fixtures.
