Whitgift School seek to appoint an Assistant Director of Sport for September 2023, to assist the leadership and effective management of one of the most successful sports departments in the country. The Assistant Director of Sport will work in conjunction with the Director of Sport to ensure the running of our extensive sports and activities programme. He/she will report to the Director of Sport.
Whitgift has a national reputation, and the successful candidate must have a clear understanding of the vision and strategy for the development of sport at Whitgift, providing dynamic and inspirational leadership, fostering the department’s truly unique cohesive approach to sport. The successful candidate will have a proven background in either Education and/or Elite Sport and be experienced in the delivery of academic PE.
Sport and physical activity play a central role in the life of Whitgift. Many boys are attracted to the School, not just because of the academic excellence, but also the considerable opportunities that exist in physical education and sport, both in the curriculum and in co-curricular activities. The Department philosophy is based around pursuing excellence and mass participation at the same time.
