The City of London Freemen’s School has a vacancy for a qualified, talented and experienced netball coach to become part of an expanding coaching team within the School.
During the spring term, you will coach netball on two games afternoons with at least two co-curricular activities a week (with the potential to add more depending on coaching experience and availability). You will also have responsibility for a school team on a Saturday. Fixtures take place both at Freemen’s and across the region at other schools on our fixture list. If possible, Cricket would also be offered in the summer term on the same basis as above.
We are looking for qualified netball coaches of Level 1 or above, who have the enthusiasm and patience to work with young athletes. You will require a thorough knowledge of coaching techniques required to plan, deliver and evaluate sessions against agreed learning outcomes, whilst also being able to stretch talented and/or novice netball players between the ages of 7 and 18. You will also be required to umpire games or drive a minibus when called upon.
The post is offered on a fixed term contract and is term time only (January to March) with the option of a second term (April to July) if the successful candidate can also offer cricket. The hours of work will be agreed each term with the Director of Sport. It is anticipated that up to 10 hours’ coaching per week is required immediately, with the addition of Saturday Fixtures.
The post is paid hourly and there are separate hourly rates of pay for coaching pupils and for accompanying pupils to and from, and during matches. Rates are determined according to skills and experience.
