St Columba's College

St Columba's College is located 25 miles from central London in the Cathedral city of St Albans, Hertfordshire. It is a thriving HMC, Catholic independent day school for students aged 4-18. There are 195 pupils in Prep and 590 in the Senior school of whom 150 are in the Sixth Form.

Columba's is an academic and aspirational school with a mixed ability intake devoted to scholarship and holistic development of each individual child. The College challenges students to the best they can be in intellectual achievement and their person and character. Formation of the whole child is at the core of the school's educational philosophy.

The school is at an interesting and exciting phase of its history as it transitions from an all-boys establishment to one that is coeducational.

The PE department at St Columba’s College endeavours to inspire students to enjoy and engage in a lifelong love of physical activity. The importance of an active and healthy lifestyle is vital, and we aim to motivate and excite students to continue beyond their time here. Through the setting of a broad range of challenging physical experiences, pupils are able to develop their competences, to grow and to learn as an individual and as part of a team. St Columba's School are looking to appoint a Graduate Sports Coach on a one-year fixed term contract. The successful candidate will possess the skills and passion to deliver high quality coaching in one of the school's major team sports (mainly Rugby, Football or Basketball for boys, and girls Netball or Football).
