Recruiting an Assistant Nova Coach for the 2023 - 2024 season
Voluntary role
3 hours per week, every Friday 6.15 pm - 9.15 pm plus additional match days.
Based at Oswestry School Nova Performance Centre
To assist in the planning, organisation and delivery of exciting and challenging
Netball sessions to a standard of excellence, linking in with the Severn Stars expectations & performance criteria.
Job Description
Coaching U18 performance athletes on the first stage of the Severn Stars performance pathway
Mentoring the athletes through their performance on and off the court, nutrition, injury prevention, strength and conditioning and life balance.
Monitoring athletes' progress on the court.
Make decisions, alongside the Head Coach, on team selection and positional changes of the team.
Promote Oswestry School and Severn Stars values and objectives in a practical, positive way.
Support the Head Coach with the promotion of Oswestry School Sports Scholarships to athletes and parents.
Complete risk assessments and ensure that reasonable steps have been taken to protect participants, at all times.
Ensure equipment and facilities are maintained safely and stored appropriately
Person Specification
Level 2 Netball Coaching Qualification or working towards this qualification
Experience in coaching U18 athletes on a regular basis
Willingness to work as part of a team
Very good organisational and time management skills
Awareness of the England Netball player pathway & Severn Stars player pathway
Passionate about your personal development and growth
Commitment to supporting young netball athletes to reach their potential
