The RGS Worcester Family of Schools is delighted to invite applicants for the position of Head of Rowing. We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and inspirational individual to lead the coaching, development and administration of Rowing at RGS Worcester. The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for the professional leadership and management of Rowing to ensure high standards of safety, coaching, training and learning are delivered and that resources are used efficiently. They will work as part of the sports team alongside the other Heads of Sport and under the direction of the Director of Sport. This is an exciting opportunity to join our coaching team and build on recent sporting successes.
The School’s Boat House on the River Severn is a 10-minute walk from the main school site
and is shared with Worcester Rowing Club. Land training takes place at the Boat House or in the School’s Fitness Suite, which has several ergometers. RGS crews regularly enter several local and regional events, as well as the National Schools’ and Henley regattas, and fixtures are also organised with other schools. In recent years, RGS rowers have enjoyed significant success, with several attending national trials and winning medals at the British Indoor Rowing Championships and at a number of international Beach Sprint competitions.

Introduction - The Royal Grammar School, Worcester is one of the leading independent co-educational day schools in the West Midlands. The RGS Senior School has approximately 900 pupils aged 11 - 18 years, including a Sixth Form of 250 students.
