Personal Summary

With over 16 years as a professional cricketer at Gloucestershire County Cricket Club, I built a career defined by consistency, leadership, and achievement at the top of the order. Across 357 appearances in all formats, I amassed 11,237 first-class runs, 2,446 List A runs, and 1,543 T20 runs, including 26 centuries and a career-best 268 against Glamorgan in 2015.

As club captain from 2018 to 2021, I led Gloucestershire to promotion to Division One of the County Championship in 2019, and a career highlight was lifting the Royal London One Day Cup at Lord’s in 2015.

Since retiring in July 2025, I have transitioned into coaching, founding the Chris Dent ProCricket Academy, where I mentor and develop batters from aspiring junior players to emerging talent with professional hopes through to seasoned professionals. Using innovative technology such as Full Track AI, Pocket Radar and ProVelocity Bat, I deliver one-to-one coaching, power-hitting group sessions, and 8-week academy programs that replicate the modern professional game environment.

I played with and against some of the best players in the world and I worked with some of the game's best coaches. I've learned some much about the skills, tactics and the mental resilience needed to perform successfully at the professional level.

Head Coach
Jul 2025 - Present Chris Dent ProCricket Academy

After amassing over 15000 professional runs for Gloucestershire, I'm now dedicated to enabling batters to make more runs.

Using the latest technology such as Full Track AI and Pocket Radar, I'm using innovative approaches to help batters of all ages and levels develop their ability to make runs against all types of bowler.

I offer 121 coaching, Power Hitting 121 and groups sessions and a multi-week batting academy that will introduce batters to the things that the professionals do to enhance their game. I will give people an insight into what the professional game feels like and help batters develop an approach that will give them more chance of success.

One of the areas I'm specialising in is power hitting. My PowerUp sessions use Pocket Radar, ProVelocityBat, cricket bats of different weights, balls of different weights and FullTrack AI. I know from real experience how important power is at all levels of the modern game. Players will get real-time data on hand and exit speeds and enhance their ability to clear the ropes with ease.
