A brief explanation of my career to date.   My career in retail started 20 years ago when I began work ing in my wife ’ s family business Queally’s SuperVal u Kilrush/Killaloe. The j o urney started in Kilrush w here I completed an 18 month trainee management course which involved spending time in all departments of the store getting an all-round education. In 2004 we had also started the build of Killaloe SuperValu which I was heavily involved in. I found the project management of the building of Killaloe SuperValu very exciting and interesting, and a steep learning curve, viewing things from a green site to what’s now cur r ently in place today  The Convent Hill Shopping Centre .   Queally’s SuperValu Killaloe open ed in 2004 and it was then that I relocated to the town of Killaloe to be involved from the start . My main responsibilities along with the management team was to lead a team of staff members by continuous onsite training to ensure excellent quality of product and service .   Through the years in retail I was always involved on a voluntary basis in local school and community rugby. In 2016 I made a decision apply for a CCRO role with Munster Rugby which I got and that lead me into looking at getting back into my first love sport as a Rugby coach. I decided that it was a great time to take a break from retail and apply myself and see how far coaching could take me. At the same time spending more time at home with the family too. In 2017 I got involved with Cistercian Collage Roscrea a private A school in the Lei nster region after my time with M unster ended. I coached the Senior 2nds and Assisted with the SCT in CCR and also managed doing 3 years as a Housemaster with the school too.(2017 -23). 2023-2024 I coach the Senior Women’s rugby for two seasons at UL Bohemians Rfc and UL University of Limerick. This season past both club and university teams won back to back trophies.  2024-Present  Ciaching in Private A School Glenstal Abbey in Marroe Co. Limerick Juniors    Now as 2024 is nearing an end I am looking to return to the corporate world or look at challenging my self and my coaching, as its time too as my kids are getting older one in 2nd year College in Galway and one progressing to 6th year and the demands of schooling, life style and living has me honestly thinking that the time is now right to plan for the next 20 years of my life. I am 50 years old now older and wiser and feel that with my retail and coaching experience I have joint learnings that will be valuable for any company, organisation and or school looking to invest in me. I am an energetic, motivated, ambitious, fast learner willing to start at the bottom to prove my worth, learn and work my way up the ladder to achieve excellence.  Thanking you in advance for your time and looking forward to hearing from you soon. Regards, Tyrone Elliott

During the past 3 years I have ignited a real desire to continue to develop key industry knowledge/skills in a sporting profession and continue to broaden my horizons. The opportunity to work in a professional environment would enable me to both build on previous experiences within education and utilise my knowledge and experiences working in the Welsh Premiership at Pontypridd RFC and in the Welsh Rugby Unions Performance Analysis bureau.   Throughout my undergraduate degree I was fortunate to receive placement experiences with regional rugby clubs and  Welsh Premiership clubs. These enabled me to gain a wider range of real-world experiences in professional and varied settings. In turn, this allowed me to gain invaluable insight into the organisation, delivery, management of a sporting organisation. In addition, these experiences ignited my thirst for a career in the professional game. Retrospective reflection has afforded me a far greater awareness of what is expected of individuals in terms of management skills and leadership skills in a high-profile sporting organisation/s. The role at Pontypridd RFC in the Welsh Premiership became of particular interest to me due to the daily challenges presented by the coaching management workforce, which fitted perfectly in relation to subsequent actions that emanated from this personal growth exercise.   In addition to undertaking my degree in Rugby Coaching and Performance, I have been working as a Teaching Assistant through a supply agency.  This has shown me that I can combine my sporting background with a career in teaching. Working with young people has shown me how I can pass on my knowledge and love of sport.   The Welsh Rugby Union’s analysis bureau has provided me with much insight into how to deliver on the ground in semi-professional, professional and international environments. I enjoyed exploring the fundamental principles of business which underpins any successful initiative Sport runs through my veins, specifically rugby. My undergraduate degree programme has left me with a clear understanding that the exit route allows me to combine my love of sport with my increasing desire to teach.  I understand that teaching is a vocation, not a job, and am very aware of the dedication and hard work it takes to provide pupils with the best learning opportunities I have looked to develop my Industry focused CV appropriately during my time at USW. I have gained my WRU Level 2 Coaching, WRU Level 1 Coaching, TAG coaching & refereeing

Ryan Cartwright
My name is Ryan Cartwright. I am an ex-professional cricketer/athlete, physical education teacher and sports coach with a specialisation in cricket. I am currently doing a PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education), and I will be a fully qualified Life Orientation teacher in the Senior and FET (Further Education and Training) phase in December 2022.   I am passionate about people, sports, education and developing young leaders for our future. The impact my teachers and coaches had on my life and their influence has had a profound effect on how I have lived my life, how I deal with people and the relationships that I’ve built over my 30 years.   There is a special link between sports and education. There is so much learning and opportunity for growth in the sports field and that is something that consistently motivates me in making a positive impact on the learners that I am working with. I believe in looking after the needs of the individual that leaves a major impact on that child’s life is the priority. There is so much power we hold in education and that’s why I feel that it’s even more reason to use that power with responsibility. I believe that good people make good teachers and those good teachers are people that put others first.   I’d like to pursue teaching Physical Education and Life Orientation. My personal goals and aspirations include completing my PGCE this year (2022) and then working within a school with a vision, ambition and drive that equals or supersedes my own. I am a student of life and a life-long learner. I love a challenge and improving myself consistently, this is a huge part of my aspirations and therefore my personal development is crucial in continually progressing myself for me to be able to successfully provide a high-quality work ethic and service to those I work with and teach. My experience in education has allowed me to build children up, creating an environment where individuals can express themselves, grow, and learn effectively. This was my goal all along. I believe strongly in effective communication and teaching children how to improve on their communication skills. Working within a school will allow me to make an impact on a personal level. It will also allow me to lead by example and be a positive role model in a child’s life. Sport has always been my platform; therefore, coaching has been at the forefront of my working relationships and connections with the people that I have worked with. I have over 10 years of sports coaching experience. I would consider myself open-minded, honest, caring, and intuitive. I am a people person and passionate about growth and development. Teaching speaks to my interpersonal qualities, besides creating an environment for children to learn within their lives. I’d like to think that my classroom is not bound by its four walls or the boundaries of the field, but rather making the world their classroom, learning in as many facets of their lives. This leads to good human beings, not just students, being present in a world that is forever changing, and finding their voice and power to change the world in their vision. The passion for what I do is seen by those around me, creating an environment that always leads to an unquenchable thirst for growth. I want to help build foundations for children to use and flourish from. Everyone has the potential to be great, they just need some help. I like to view it as a fire that I have within that will spread to all the children I teach and coach. My purpose has always been to change the world, I guess that world is not my generation's world but the generations to come. I am currently employed at a private school in White River, South Africa, called Uplands. I work with children from the ages of 5 to 18. I am a physical education teacher, and sports coach, with a specialised focus on cricket. I have the role of Head of Cricket at Uplands Preparatory School (ages 5 to 13) and manage the cricket operations within the Preparatory School. I also coach cricket at the College (ages 14 to 18) and have been completing my teaching practice there too. I teach Life Orientation (PHSE, Life Skills). I am looking at potentially immigrating to another country, particularly Europe or the United Kingdom, but am also open to other options abroad.

I'm a former Zimbabwe cricket captain who once held a position as the youngest test captain in the history of test cricket, a record which was recently broken by Rashid Khan from Afghanistan. I relocated to UK in 2016 with my wife and 2 sons. I'm currently coaching in Bangladesh at a centre called BKSP, however, I'm spending too much time away from my family. I am extremely good in all things cricket and I'm sure my CV will point that out. My family is in Liverpool however, both my sons are in boarding school in Yorkshire. We are prepared to move cities should I get the right deal.
