Please consider me for the tennis coach opportunity. I am including my resume that lists my qualifications and experience. In my previous role, I was responsible for advice and assistance to the Head Coach during the Tennis program athletic events.

I am looking for a school where I can join and lead where appropriate a thriving department and bring my extensive knowledge and experience to the role to be the inspiration and motivation in developing a rich varied programme of PE and school sport. My excellent organisational skills and ability to develop and foster good working relationships with staff and students would enable me to lead others and be an integral part of the wider school community. I have been planning and delivering PE from Nursery to Y6 at a range of schools in Brighton, London and Malaysia and I would be able to bring new and innovative ideas to further develop the curriculum and department. I have developed new teaching plans, assessment opportunities, progress trackers, inclusive clubs and many displays and newsletters to celebrate and inspire students' performance.  Planning the extra curricular clubs and competition schedule has always been part of my job and I relish the opportunity to work with colleagues in other schools to provide a range of opportunities for the students. This is how many students improve their confidence and competence in sports and activities and also develop skills for life.. I have organised fixture calendars across my schools and planned and hosted numerous events including, inter-house competitions, sports days, festivals, young leader training and many staff training and professional development sessions. At Nexus I had the opportunity to work in a larger department where I was able   to take the lead and also work independently to build the primary department. This was an excellent   experience for me and has allowed me the opportunity to learn from colleagues as well as  lead training and new initiatives within the department and across the school.  While in Brighton I was the lead teacher for Primary PE across the city and organised and led   both sport specific and PE curriculum development training for new and experienced teachers. Trainee teachers from the university were often sent on placement to observe and discuss the   way in which I had written and delivered the PE curriculum and also how my school used PE to impact other areas of the children’s learning.  

I'm a dedicated individual with 30 years of experience in sports coaching and working with children. I particularly love focusing on the education and development of children and take pride in giving them the skills not only to succeed on the sports field but also in every day life. My passion for sport shines through my long term commitment nurturing young athletes. I am an adaptable, professional and devoted team player with a competitive, goal driven outlook on sport. I am also ambitious, driven and committed to my personal development and am constantly pushing myself to improve as a coach be it through slef evaluation or profession CPD.

In my experiences I have been able to work in some challenging environments with some inspiring teachers that have helped me in deciding what the best career is. One of these examples was when I was a PE teaching assistant in a school in London, through this I was able to gain valuable experience and observe some of the best adaptive and EAL teaching as the community surrounding the school was predominantly a South Asian community. In my role at the school, I worked alongside a PE specialist who led the delivery of PE throughout the school, it was a four-form entry state school so being organised and working well as a team was fundamental to success. In the delivery of the lessons, I was able to first assist and observe then go onto to lead sessions in age groups ranging from five to eleven in different skills and sports. With this I also took on after school clubs and took children to competitions in the local area and the main highlight being a first girls football competition where despite limited experience and training, they were able to win a match. This then led to more enthusiasm for girls’ competition and more signing up to the after-school clubs. In addition to these experiences, I have been able to work in wraparound care within a primary school setting where I was able to interact with children and run games and interact with parents daily. I have experience in holiday camps where again I was fully engaged with running activities for primary school children and having clear boundaries on behaviour. Throughout these experiences I have been able to build up a strong variety of sports and activities and how they can be made engaging and how also non-traditional sports can be turned into something that would still achieve your session and lesson objectives. Sport and physical activity play a big part in my life as I am a keen follower and participant in cricket. I also am a long-distance runner and in 2024 I am going to take part in a half marathon. I follow football, rugby, tennis, and I gain enjoyment out of them as they are a nice escape and it is always fascinating to see the different techniques, tactics and challenges they must get through.

My particular interest lies in rugby coaching, but I bring a diverse range of skills and experiences that I believe could be a great asset to your school community. I spent the past four years working full-time as an Academy Coach at London Irish RFC (2019-2023), where I nurtured young talent and cultivated their skills in preparation for elite competition. I have helped athletes on their journey to successful premiership and international rugby careers. During this time, I also completed a Masters in Sports Coaching, which further deepened my understanding and knowledge of nurturing and developing athletic talent. Unfortunately, the club recently went into administration, and I am now seeking new challenges. Prior to my work at London Irish RFC, I had a fulfilling four-year tenure at the England Rugby NGB (2015-2019), working in rugby development. In this role, I was constantly seeking new and creative ways to engage people with rugby to help promote the game and widen its appeal. This experience allows me to bring innovation and creativity to the sporting curriculum of your institution. Beyond my commitment to rugby, I have a PGCE (QTS) and spent a year teaching French at Taunton School (2014-2015). During my time there, I also had the opportunity to mentor a tutor group in a boarding house, gaining valuable experience in pastoral care. My teaching experience combined with my passion for languages allows me to offer my services to the Languages Department at your institution if ever required. My love for sports extends beyond rugby and squash. I also play cricket for a local club in Hampshire, and my expertise in this sport could prove beneficial to your institution's cricket team or general sports curriculum. I reside on the premises of St Swithun 's School in Winchester with my wife and our two daughters. My wife runs a boarding house, which further adds to our familiarity with school environments and the specific dynamics involved in managing student wellbeing . Their education and development are dear to my heart, which motivates me even more to contribute to a school environment. I am an experienced PE teacher (Head of Rugby & Tennis) with a good all round knowledge and practical teaching experience of a wide range of sports such Rugby 1stXV, Cricket 13A, Tennis U12-U18, Hockey U15-18, Football 15A, Swimming and Athletics. My school also uses FMS. Outside of school I coach Middlesex U15 & U16 and previously coached with Hampstead RFC. Academic teaching is a passion of mine and I have taught Edexcel GCSE and A Level PE as well as Edexcel EPQ at UCS. I mark papers for AQA GCE PE and moderate the NEA A Level PE for OCR. These additional job responsibilities require me to work under pressure and I my level 3 apprenticeship in leadership and management has supported me.Through my experiences of teaching examination PE, I have successfully supported a broad range of students with diverse needs through challenging learning journeys. Within my department I am in charge of coordinating the school sports day and the Summer term 11+ and 16+ induction days. I also lead the year 12 Sports Science Enrichment programme. More recently I devised and launched a brand new whole school internal games programme ‘The UCS Games’ which targeted inclusion at a whole school level.
